People in a seminar

The JustHeat project A Social and Cultural History of Home Heating) is in Bucharest to discuss research findings with other researchers within the CHANCE programme, but also with the citizens in Bucharest.

JustHeat is a European research project, including four countries: Sweden, the UK, Romania and Finland. The project conducts oral histories with citizens in all four countries to understand how different approaches to heating the home have shaped our lives and our homes over the last 70 years. A general trend in all four countries have been that increasing heat prices since the Ukraine war started which has led to changes to how much of the home it is possible and affordable to heat. Many families have started to heating one or two rooms instead of the whole home.

This and many more findings were presented at an open event at the Rezidenta9 gallery. Jenny von Platten presented the findings from Sweden.
