Welcome to the IIIEE Alumni Network Conference 2025, May 8-10, 2025 in Lund, Sweden

    

In 2025, the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) celebrates 30 years of pioneering research, education, and policy impact. To mark this milestone, we invite our global alumni community to reconnect in Lund for a special IIIEE Alumni Conference. This event is a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, reflect on our collective achievements, and shape the future of sustainable development together.

What to Expect from the Conference

Program Content

Over three days, attendees will engage in keynotes, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and structured networking sessions. The program is currently being developed, but will focus on key challenges and solutions, for example:

  • Sustainable Urban Development – Advancing low-carbon cities and resilient infrastructure.
  • Circular Economy and Resource Management – Strategies to reduce waste, promote circular business models, and improve resource efficiency.
  • Corporate Responsibility and Green Finance – Responsible investment, ESG frameworks, and business-driven environmental initiatives.
  • Climate Policy and Governance – The role of policy frameworks in enabling transitions to more sustainable systems.
  • Energy Transition and Decarbonization – Renewable energy solutions, electrification, and emission reduction strategies.
  • Behavioral Change and Leadership in Sustainable Development – Personal leadership, systemic thinking, and the role of the Inner Development Goals.

Expect the Unexpected – We encourage attendees to use open spaces and contribute their own topics. Whether your idea aligns with the themes of the conference or explores something entirely different, this is your chance to introduce fresh perspectives, creative approaches, and outside-the-box discussions.

Call for Contributions

As we build the program, we invite you—our alumni—to contribute to this year’s sessions. The IIIEE alumni network is diverse, bringing together professionals with expertise, passion, and innovative ideas. This is your opportunity to share your insights, engage in discussions, and shape the conference experience.

How You Can Contribute

  • Short Presentations (5-10 min): Share a project, innovative idea, or unique perspective at our conference fair. Participants can visit different presentation stations, engaging in diverse discussions.
  • Longer Sessions/Workshops (1 hour): Lead a structured session—whether a deep dive into your work, an interactive debate, or a creative hands-on activity.
