Education for professionals

The IIIEE works with professional education in order to support transitions to climate-neutral and resource-efficient economies for companies and public authorities through increasing the impact of the IIIEE’s knowledge and research outputs. IIIEE’s commissioned education work builds on the IIIEE’s long-term commitment to collaboration with societal partners and to life-long learning.
Current professional education projects include:
Energy Supervision – Autumn 2025 (in Swedish)
This commissioned course is designed for professionals working with environmental supervision at municipalities or county administrative boards who wish to strengthen their competence in addressing energy issues in supervision.
The course provides both theoretical and practical grounding in relevant legislation, corporate energy use, energy audits, and systematic energy management.
Through lectures, discussions, group exercises, self-study, and a final on-site meeting, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the inspector’s role, the legal framework, technical conditions, and strategies for systematic and motivating supervisory work. The course particularly emphasizes energy efficiency and continuous improvement.

Innovation in Governance for Urban Nature-based Solutions
This is a capacity development programme for mid- to upper-level managers in city administrations, civil society, or multilateral organisations that focuses on governance, leadership, and innovation in the context of nature-based solutions in urban environments. The second year of the programme is currently underway.
