Tailored project aims
What company needs are addressed in the projects?
Overall, the project allows for companies to stay updated and integrate sustainability in their business plan, business model and daily operations.
The specific topics that have been addressed in the many student projects so far include e.g. environmental improvements, building an environmental management system, green product development, sustainability reporting, stakeholder analysis, reverse logistics, purchasing tools, benchmarking, circular business model, sustainable business strategy, and many more.
It is free of charge to participate as a reference company.
All projects start with the collaborating company describing their thoughts on what new knowledge they could benefit from.
Below are example descriptions that the collaborating companies have given to the students as a starting point.
Example 1. Film i Skåne
“Film in Skåne wants to develop a framework for an environmentally friendly film production that they can use as support for the production companies to reduce the negative environmental impact from film making. The company wants help identifying how to reduce environmental impact from film production. What are the critical areas where a significant difference can be achieved? How should the production team work at different phases; in planning, scene building, filming and demolition, to maximize the impact? How to work with communication to achieve behavioural change among film teams and staff on site? What benefits can be gained by having an active environmental management in film production and what parties get the most out of those benefits? The focus of the concept is to reduce the negative environmental impact during the actual filming process, which excludes writing processes, casting and other administrative tasks in pre-phase.“
Example 2. Öresundskraft
“The project is about investigating how Öresundskraft can relate to and work with Urban mining. It aims to develop a decision-making model for when to dig up and "upcycle" materials and when not to. Can there be materials that have such high economic value that they are worth digging even in small quantities? Or are there any substances that can be found in such large quantities that they are worth extracting even though the market price is low? The safety aspect of urban mining should also be taken into account at work. For example, is it dangerous from a social perspective to keep a pit open for a long time? Öresundskraft wants the decision-making model to develop into a business model in the long run.”
