MOOCs at the IIIEE
MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE COURSES (MOOCS)
Since 2014, the IIIEE at Lund university has developed seven Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) which are all part of the Greening the Economy series. These courses are open for anyone who is interested in learning more about a give subject. The courses are four-five weeks long and require students to pass quizzes and a final course assignment. So far, over 200 000 learners have been active in these courses.
How can we live a good life on one planet with over seven billion people?
How can we shape our urban development towards sustainable and prosperous futures?
How can we create a circular economy through sustainable materials management?
How can we work with nature to design and build our cities?
How can we govern the sharing economy in our cities?
How can cities work to better align with the 1.5°C goal?
How can cities re-imagining the future and re-designing the present help achieve transformative change?
MOOCs in brief
Each MOOC is sized as a 5 week part-time course (3-7 hours a week). The courses are offered asynchronously and year-round.
This allows learners who don’t have a fast or reliable internet connection to learn at their own pace.
Learners can access and complete lectures, readings, homework and other learning materials at any time.
