Other courses

PhD students, in consultation with their supervisors, choose and take courses other than mandatory courses based on their research needs. Below you find some tips as to where to find these courses.

  • At the IIIEE we offer a course on environmental policy evaluation (link to “Course syllabus EPE general”) roughly every other year, depending on the interests of students.
  • The LTH offers a number of PhD courses that could be of relevance for many IIIEE PhD students.
  • The faculty of social science also offers various PhD courses relevant for IIIEE PhD students.
  • If you are interested in improving your teaching skills, the Division for Higher Education Development (short for AHU in Swedish) offers a number of courses (not all are for PhD students but some you can definitely take).
  • Since 2020 Lund University started running Agenda 2030 Graduate School in which various faculties at LU offers courses relevant to Agenda 2030. You can find courses offered through this school here.
  • In addition to these courses held within LU, there are a number of PhD courses held outside of the LU, which could be of great use for your PhD studies, and you should proactively look for them. The list of courses developed by existing and previous PhD students would be of use to look for and judge the quality and relevance of such courses, as well as those within LU.
