Courses

Due to IIIEE’s diverse research areas as well as its interdisciplinary nature and project-based financing, the type of courses suitable for each PhD student varies. We therefore only have limited number of mandatory courses. The rest of the courses should be selected in consultation with your supervisors.

We have a few PhD courses provided at the IIIEE, and there are courses provided by other departments of Lund University (e.g. LTH, Faculty of Social Science, Division for Higher Education Development etc.).

You also have possibilities to take courses outside of LU, or have reading courses. Who covers the cost of the course as well as administrative procedures varies depending on the type of courses. Please consult the information on these issues carefully and follow them.

Tips: the previous and existing PhD students have been compiling information on various courses they have taken, together with some comments on the quality of the courses. In addition to talking with your peers, please do have a look at the document.
