As of spring 2020, the following four courses are mandatory for the IIIEE PhD students – check when it became mandatory.

• Introductory Workshop for Newly Admitted PhD Students at LTH held by LTH (mandatory for all the IIIEE PhD students starting their study after 1 January 2019).
• Interdisciplinary Research Incubator held by IIIEE – the course, run by Prof. Jenny Palm, help all the IIIEE PhD students to learn how to put together academic articles as well as kappa. Mandatory for all the IIIEE PhD students.
• Governance and approaches for Low-Carbon and Resource Efficient Economies (LCREE) (mandatory for all the IIIEE PhD students enrolled in autumn 2019 onwards).
• Research ethics – Mandatory for all the IIIEE PhD students. The LU is developing a common PhD course on research ethics to be taken by all LU PhD students. Until that is developed, students can take courses held by one of the LU faculties (e.g. Faculty of Social Science).

The fifth course below is mandatory for all students who wish to take part in the IIIEE’s educational activities.
