Ana María Arbeláez Vélez has successfully defended her PhD dissertation

On 15 June 2023, Ana María Arbeláez Vélez defended her dissertation “Environmental Impacts of Shared Mobility: Potential, Factors, and Assessments”. 

Transport systems are under transformation and a variety of measures are taken decrease some of the environmental impacts. But what is the role of shared mobility such as ridesharing, bikesharing, and scooter and moped sharing? In her dissertation, Ana has examined the potential of shared mobility to decrease the environmental impacts of passenger transportation and she has explored the factors that might affect this potential.

In her research Ana has designed and applied assessments using life-cycle analysis and multiregional input and output analysis to evaluate the environmental potential of shared mobility.

The opponent was Professor Jillian Anable from the Institute of Transport Studies, University of Leeds.
