There is a lot going on about our alumna Iryna Stavchuk. The war pushed her out of her deputy-minster of the environment post in Kiev and out of her country, picking new roles in relation to Ukraine and climate issues. In June we had her here in Lund giving one of the best graduation speeches we have seen for batch 28 of our Master in Environmental Management and Policy. Iryna is batch 10.
This time she arrived to us via BBC: on their 100 most inspiring and influential women of 2023 list. We are immensely proud. It makes us reflect on the length we go to in selecting candidates who are not only very capable but also with a real passion for sustainability, how we demand a lot of our students in the courses while also creating a caring and supportive environment, how we mix regular studies with a lot of exposure to practice – and if & how all of this impacts the impact our graduates around the world have. We believe it does. But her achievement and this recognition is of course thanks to Iryna being the amazing person she is. Well done!
