Carl Dalhammar has recently been participating as expert in the official Inquiry on the implementation of two forthcoming EU directives in Swedish law.

IIIEE researcher Carl Dalhammar has served as an expert in the Swedish Government’s official inquiry on implementing two important EU directives into national law: the Directive on empowering consumers for the green transition and 2) the Directive on common rules promoting the repair of goods.

These forthcoming rules aim to strengthen consumer protection in the shift toward more sustainable markets—introducing stricter measures to prevent greenwashing, including clearer standards for communicating carbon offsetting, and expanding consumers’ rights to repair goods.
