Research Spotlight

IIIEE Research Spotlight Series

What can an interdisciplinary environment make possible?

At IIIEE, research excellence takes many forms – from highly cited publications and major international research projects to scientific leadership, prestigious appointments, awards and influence on policy and practice. Together, these achievements reflect the quality and international standing of our researchers, and the environment that enables them to thrive.

In this series, we highlight some of the research achievements of IIIEE researchers and the impact their work has beyond the institute. Individually, the stories showcase outstanding researchers and their contributions. Collectively, they demonstrate how a relatively small institute can generate research excellence, international visibility and impact that extends across Lund University and far beyond.

First out, reflections from Director Jenny Palm on why an institute like IIIEE matters for society, Lund University, and to address global and local sustainability challenges.
