This year our students have been collaborating with the client companies Eurolink, Nordic Waterproofing, Repligen, Sydvatten, and Systembolaget to quickly develop well-founded analyses actionable recommendations. The projects were conducted as part of a course on sustainability consultancy, and intense but rewarding course at the end of the first year of the programme.

Our students from the master’s program EMP have just finised the course Environmental Management and Strategy in Practice (EMSP) and presented their results to the client companies. The deliverables were warmly received, highlighting the value of hands-on sustainability education and collaboration.

EMSP is one of the two final courses in the first year of the Master’s Programme in Environmental Management and Policy. As part of the course, students take on the role of sustainability consultants, working directly with real-world client organisations to address current sustainability challenges and opportunities.

Throughout the course, students engage deeply with the sustainability performance and strategic ambitions of their assigned companies. Their work includes analysing sustainability plans, conducting benchmarking studies, interviewing employees and customers, and developing comprehensive reports containing analyses and recommendations for future action.

All five participating companies demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing their sustainability efforts, and the course offered students a unique opportunity to contribute to these ongoing journeys while gaining valuable professional experience.

We extend our sincere thanks to the companies that collaborated with us this year. Their engagement made it possible for students to apply their knowledge in practice and create tangible value for partner organisations.

  • Driving Towards Sustainable Trucking. A market assessment and investment analysis of the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) for heavy-duty transport for Eurolink i Sverige AB

  • Developing a Method to Track and Calculate Upstream Scope 3 Emissions for Nordic Waterproofing AB in accordance with the standards and guidance of the GHG Protocol.

  • Mapping risk in the life science sectors and for product specific materials. The company Repligen AB needed help to develop a supplier self-assessment tool.

  • Water Reporting. Mapping water-related indicators, metrics, and communication approaches related to water issues. The project compared these with Sydvatten AB’s current reporting to identify opportunities and gaps.

  • Tracking past GHG reductions in supply chains. Systembolaget AB wished for overview of carbon emissions and improvements that have occurred since 2019 to present.

Two of the project were organized by Sustainalink – as always we are very thankful for our constructive and fruitful collaboration.

Finally, a huge thanks to the students for your brilliance and hard work - a lot to process in a short time. Your efforts made it all happen!
