Energy transitions

An ongoing research theme

Energy transitions involve changes in economies, technologies and governance of energy systems.

Rapid transitions to low-carbon energy systems are essential for mitigating the climate change, supporting socio-economic development and ensuring energy security. Such energy transitions involve changes in economies, technologies and governance of energy systems. We research the conditions under which such changes are feasible, particularly with respect to solar, wind and nuclear power as well as phasing out fossil fuels.

Ongoing research projects on this theme

The IIIEE is currently working with circular economy & business models in a number of projects.
