What is a good idea?

  • Scientific potential (quality & renewal)
  • Potential for societal impact

What ideas will be supported and what proposals will be approved for submission?

  • Strategic focus: innovative in relation to IIIEE mission & balance between themes
  • Resources provided vs. demanded (overhead and co-funding) & “alternative costs”
  • Interactions & cooperation with key stake holders
  • Links to education & strengthening the availability of teachers in areas where there is a shortage

Issues to consider when thinking about preparing proposals

What is provided by the funder?

  • Money,
  • Scientific collaborations (LU, Sweden, international)
  • Societal co-operation and routes to social impact (Local, Sweden, international)

What is demanded?

  • Personnel & money (direct and indirect co-funding and overhead)
  • Deliverables
  • Time schedules
  • Administratively
  • Possibilities for a successful application (general success rate/IIIEE success rate / own record)
