Seminar on behavioural economics for energy use and climate change

The Nobel prizes awarded for behavioural economics last year (Richard Thaler) and the economics of climate change this year (William Nordhaus) show that behavioural economic analysis of responses to ambitious climate and energy policies is at the cutting edge of research.
The seminar on 9 November at the IIIEE, summarized and discussed findings of a research project at the IIIEE, Lund University, entitled ‘Behavioural Economics for Energy and Climate Change Policies and the Transition to a Sustainable Energy System’. The seminar provided evidence about how and to what extent behavioural-oriented policy interventions can change people’s behaviour in areas related to energy use and climate mitigation.
During the seminar, our speakers shared their findings and experience from research and practice. It was an interesting and interactive event in the aula of the IIIEE, discussing latest advancements of behavioural economics as applied to climate and energy policy.
