How can we move towards 1.5° living? What are the actions we as individuals can uptake to lower our carbon footprint? The EU 1.5° Lifestyles team has collected 50 research based and relevant low carbon lifestyle options to be implemented if we are to achieve the 1.5° climate targets.

The international research team of the EU 1.5 Lifestyles project (of which IIIEE is part) has collected 50 research-based and relevant options for individuals to reduce their carbon footprint, keeping the 1.5 degree goal of the Paris Agreement in mind.

The options are sorted into 5 lifestyle areas: nutrition, mobility, housing, leisure and other.

The areas were selected following a three-step qualitative research process. After a thorough international literature review, 500 options were identified and then ranked according to their impact level. Finally, a short list of options was selected and validated through expert interviews.

In addition to lifestyle options, the 1.5 lifestyles project also considers structural barriers and enablers, rebound effects and other important aspects to meeting a 1.5 target. You can read more about the project here: www.onepointfivelifestyles.eu
