The 21st batch of MESPOM-students has arrived at the IIIEE – 16 students from 16 countries.
MESPOM is a joint Master’s programme hosted by four universities, and after the first year at Central European University (CEU) in Vienna and University of Aegean on Lesbos the students have now arrived in Lund for their third semester. The initial course in their Lund semester is “Environmental Management, Sustainability and Business Value Creation”. Here the MESPOM students work alongside Environmental Science students from Lund University, allowing for both experience sharing, collaboration and networking.
As part of the course, the students went for a study visit to TetraPak and to meet with Social Sustainability Manager, Tamsin Ekkel , and Environmental Manager of Tetra Pak Sweden, Ola Trulsson. Tamsin and Ola introduced the students to the practical dimensions of the environmental and sustainability work of Tetra Pak and topics such as setting goals in prioritised areas, distribution of responsibilities, execution and implementation of plans, environmental management systems and reporting. The students also learnt about some examples of actual measures at TetraPak that are taken in sites in different parts of the world.
