A team of researchers from Lund University (Nancy Bocken) and TU Delft (Vivian Tunn, Ellis van den Hende, Jan Schoormans), led by PhD researcher Vivian Tunn have conducted an expert study on the role of the consumer in a Circular Economy in the pursuit of new business models.
The findings of this study suggest that the most promising business models for sustainable consumption are those that reduce overall consumption levels and consumer effort.
Further, we found that a diverse range of business models in the market can potentially enable different customer segments to consume sustainably.
The project was supported by Marie Sklodowska-Curie innovative training network Circ€uit which investigates the role of new service-driven business models in the circular economy.
