On 20-22 June representatives from the IIIEE will participate in RIO+20, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development that takes place in Rio de Janeiro. The purpose of RIO+20 is to gather governmental representatives, heads of states, the private sector, NGOs and other groups to discuss reduce poverty, advance social equity and ensure environmental protection.
The Director and the project coordinator of the Young Master’s Programme at the IIIEE, Torvald Jacobsson and Elisabeth Knöppel will participate in RIO+20. Additionally, Professor Oksana Mont at the IIIEE, will participate at a workshop that takes place on 13-15 June, prior to RIO+20. The focus of the workshop is on Global and Regional Research on Sustainable Consumption & Production Systems: Achievements, Challenges, and Dialogues and is organized by The Global Research Forum on Sustainable Consumption and Production (GRF).
