How Sustainable is the Digital Society?
Seminar, 350th Anniversary
During our all-day symposium we will discuss the electronic waste we produce looking at various aspects. The event is primarily intended for upper-secondary school pupils from the Spykenskolan in Lund. In the morning, there will be lecturers from the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) and the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS) to talk about the environmental and societal impact of electronic – and highlight what we can do to reduce it. In the afternoon, we will conduct a number of workshops with the pupils and with representatives from the technology and recycling sectors.
The symposium is not open to the public; however, certain parts of the day will be recorded and can be viewed at a later date.
We will also illustrate the amount of electronic waste we produce through a large installation on Stortorget in Lund.
This event is part of the science week entitled “The Digital Society” which runs 24–30 April 2017.
