Young Masters Programme YMP in Sustainable Development

Since 1999, the IIIEE has worked with environmental education and high schools through the YMP. The YMP focuses on sustainable development and preventive strategies to deal with environmental problems.

Overview
The YMP is an interactive distance education course, which utilises the internet to connect students, teachers, and tutors in different parts of the world. It is a catalyst for environmental education in high schools and activities out of the classroom where students implement preventive environmental strategies. Over 10,000 students from all over the world have participated in the YMP since the beginning of activities.

Course outline
The Programme is divided in 4 parts. These include:

  • Part 1 consists of studies with the overarching heading "Sustainability – Why?"
  • Part 2 deals with preventive environmental strategies and it is called "Sustainability – How?"
  • Part 3 involves a project that applies the learned concepts to real, local situations.
  • Part 4 offers the opportunity to present project works at an international convention.
