Semester 3: Preventive environmental strategies
The aim of this semester is to equip students with knowledge and skills necessary to prepare and implement environmentally relevant management decisions, at business and at policy level. Besides lectures and seminars, the semester includes writing an individual research paper and is based on direct interaction with companies and municipalities. All units are mandatory, while the Applied Research in Preventive Environmental Approaches (ARPEA) course gives students a possibility to select research topics in strategic environmental development. Mandatory units (number of ECTS credits in brackets):
- Environmental Management in Organizations, EMO (9);
- Integrated Product Policy, IPP (6);
- Applied Research in Preventive Environmental Approaches, ARPEA (6);
- Strategic Environmental Development, SED (9).
Semester 4: Thesis project
In Semester 4 (February-June of the 2nd academic year), MESPOM students conduct their Masters thesis research projects. Thesis research can be hosted by any of the six MESPOM Consortium partners and often involves internships with academic, government or industrial organizations.
