The research project Post Conflict Futures had its first workshop 1-3 September as part of the scenario building project on the future of Syria organised by the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) and the Center for Middle East Studies (CMES).

More than 30 Syrian scholars met to collectively discuss and reflect on possible developments in post-conflict Syria, and how equitable and sustainable recovery efforts could be promoted.

Participants came from a wide variety of backgrounds. Several were Swedish Institute grant holders, but participants also included active professionals and researchers. The scenario-building process will continue with further workshops in October and December.
